Wicked Collection

It was the spring of 2006 when I created my first shoe template, for an upcoming Paper Crafts Fall/Halloween issue. When searching our local stamp store for a new shoe image, that would allow me to create and finish the entire Bewitching Fashion Show ensemble, I discovered the Lockhart Stamp Company. Not only did I Iove the shoe, but I loved all of the other stamps that were sitting on the shelves as well! I can't tell you how many made their way home with me that day. Karen and I both lived in the Puget Sound area at the time and I contacted her the moment that the project was accepted. I couldn't wait to share my excitement with her.

The rest is history - our friendship and business relationship grew from that day at the stamp store. The images that Karen hand draws have such a wonderful sense of balance and detail and I LOVE to color. It is an honor to relive some old memories by creating a new "Wicked" ensemble as Guest Artist for the Lockhart Stamp Company. This collection is inspired by Karen's Haunting Witch's Dress stamp and the musical, Wicked. We girls can't resist a fabulous outfit coupled with fashionable shoes and a few party favors. I hope you enjoy this Wicked party idea - LOL! For more details, please feel free to visit my blog - simple dreams.

Creating the Card

The focal point of this card is the Haunting Witch's Dress (stamp 5020). I colored the image using Copic Markers © (V01, V04, V09, YG00, YG03, YG06, C1 and C100) together with Prismacolor © pencils (Dahlia Purple, Black Cherry, Chartreuse, Dark Green and Black). I love using the two media together. The "tornado" background was created by sewing a spiral on a white base and then airbrushing in a swirl pattern using Copic marker V09. A little glitter and bling to pull it all together (note that the fabulous little spider is blinged up as well) and you are ready to invite some friends over for a "wicked" good time!
